The Seafarers of Catan (for Settlers) -- 2007 Version
Price $41.95

An expansion for Settlers of Catan. You must have Settlers of Catan in order to use the Seafarers expansion. Included are 60 wooden ships, harbors, a pirate ship, 14 edge pieces and 24 new hexagons: 12 water, 2 gold fields, 3 deserts, 1 farmland, 1 forest, 1 pasture, 2 mountains and 2 hills.

Seafarers provides a bunch more tiles and rules for creating boats. The gameboard setup can be secret and each player discovers new tiles as their shipping lanes expand. The next hex you uncover could be water or land. If its land, you can expand your settlements. This game is much more random than the original.

This expansion can be further expanded !

Cities and Knights of Catan (for Settlers) -- 2007 Version
Price $41.95

Cities and Knights features more in-depth development of your cities. There is a new flip-card that details the level of technology in your cities. The Development Card Deck has been eliminated. Instead, you get new more specialized Development Cards based on your Tech level. Since there are now Soldier cards, each player must buy Knights to protect their realm. Knights have a power rating of 1, 2, or 3. Each player starts with a city and a settlement in play and the winning victory point total is 13. There is a barbarian warship that comes to visit the island every few turns to pillage the player that has the fewest knights. This game is MUCH more complicated than original Settles. I recommend it if you want a more in-depth game.

In this version of the game, the players race for dominance of the island, but the game has much more complexity than Settlers. City Development is of prime importance as players not only deal in brick, ore, wheat, sheep and wheat but also in cloth, coin and paper. Knight tokens also appear on the board, keeping the peace but also determining the outcome of the island's progress. They can have a profound effect on the Robber Barron, marauding barbarians, and the placement of your opponent's settlements. There are other new game features like the merchant, progress cards, knight advancement, and developing a Metropolis!

The game is significantly longer and more complex than regular Settlers, but we have found the 3 player version to be very entertaining and playable in an hour or so.

Japan is about to launch one of the most infamous pre-emptive strikes in military history. A&A Pacific invites you and your opponents to determine the future of the Pacific! How will the Americans counterattack after Japan's initial onslaught. Will Japan succeed in gaining the rich resources of the East Indies? Can these be held long enough for the Allies to grow weary of the war? How will British forces fare in the embattled jungles of Burma?

A brand new version of our best-selling war game. Naval strategy, as well as prudent economic moves, are critical in building and sustaining your naval forces. Warships, transports, ground forces and air power will all be needed if you are to control the Pacific. 345 authentic plastic playing pieces.

This version of A&A came out in 2000 and has been very popular. Set in spring, 1941. This game is also self-contained and uses the familiar Axis and Allies theme. Focus of action is the European Theater. In other words, Japan is not in this game. Playing pieces are different for each of the four powers, British, Russian, German and US. Includes: Gameboard Map, 369 Plastic Playing Pieces, Industrial Production Certificates, 4 National Reference Charts, National Control Markers, National Production Charts, Battle Board Chart, 12 Dice, Plastic Chips (red & gray), & Game Play Manual.

Hera and Zeus
Price $22.95

This is an excellent and absorbing two-player strategy game. It is a great favorite among Game Preserve staffers and gamers. (Perhaps this is because wives will play it). People say that the more rounds they play, the more they appreciate the subtleties and balance of the game.

Hera and Zeus each hold equivalent (but not identical) decks of cards which they shuffle. Cards with numbers on them show their strength in battle. Cards with mythological symbols on them have special powers (such as: move a card, recycle a card, for your opponent to reveal all of their cards, and so forth). During a turn you can decide whether to draw or take other actions. Players make many hard choices--is Pythia of more value to you as a spy, or for her ability to overcome Nemesis? Should you play Dionysus early when it's not an optimal use of the card, or hold it in reserve for a better time and risk it being stolen out of your hand?

There are five different ways to win, which means there are many tactical options.

Risk 2210
Price $39.95

This is a darker, bigger, and faster-paced world than that of the Risk game we grew up with. Lots of great innovations including undersea and moon territories to conquer, diplomats, energy units, naval, nuclear, and space commanders.

A new five year (5 turn) limit does away with the agonizing end game dice rolling of bygone days. Our staff gives this game five stars

Contains two game boards (Earth and Moon), 455 futuristic playing pieces, 109 command cards, 71 Risk cards, 20 space stations, miscellaneous markers, dice, and instructions.
