Mankala is an ancient head-to-head strategy game from Africa. I know a returned Peace Corps volunteer who claims to have lost many a game to little kids who had made their game board by scraping holes in the dirt and collecting stones from the creek bed. Easy to learn, difficult to master.
This four player variation ups the ante by making what was a two player game now four players.
Board folds up to store brightly colored glass "stones".
Warning: Choking Hazard. Small Parts. Not for children under 3 yrs.
