Hive is a unique strategic game that can be played just about anywhere because it doesn't require a board. In fact, the pieces themselves become the board through gameplay. With no setting up to do, the game begins when the first piece is placed down. The object of the game is to totally surround your opponent"s queen, at the same time trying to block your opponent from doing likewise to your queen. The player to totally surround his opponentsí queen wins the game.

The pieces are made of sturdy bakelite embossed with the inscect as opposed to previous versions of the game that had stickers-on-wood pieces.
